Chapter 1: The Phone Inside the Doll
"Nobody leaves.
Lock the doors."
Ricardo gives the order after stepping between Bia and Helena.
Moments earlier, the funeral had been still beneath white lilies and soft memorial lighting.
Then Bia produced a cell phone hidden inside her doll.
She says Helena hid it.
She also says her mother recorded everything.
Whispers rippled through the chapel as Helena's composure began to collapse.
Ricardo kept Bia close at his side.
The little girl was frightened, but she refused to release the phone.
Helena kept watching the doors as if she already knew what the recording could mean.
Then movement erupted at the chapel entrance.
