Chapter 1: The Night He Forgot Who I Was

"My Husband Sl\*pped Me in Front of His Corporate Board to 'Teach Me My Place.' As His Coworkers Laughed, I Walked to the Office and Sent One Email That Stripped Him of His Career, His Luxury Car, and the Very House We Stood In.

The backhand struck my jaw so hard my teeth cut into my cheek.

The entire room went dead silent.

David had invited his top company executives over to celebrate his promotion to Regional Director.

When a coworker joked about his success, David sneered at me in front of everyone:

"She has nothing without my paycheck."

I calmly replied: "David, I contributed just as much to this home."

That bruised his ego.

He backhanded me across the face, sending me crashing into the table.

Not a single executive moved to help me.

They stared at their expensive shoes and chuckled nervously as David straightened his cufflinks:

"Women need a reminder of who's in charge."

I didn't shed a single tear.

I wiped the bl\*\*d, whispered "Excuse me," and walked straight to my locked office.

David laughed to his guests: "Let her go cry."

He had no idea.

He thought the private investment firm that bought his company last month was run by strangers.

He didn't know I owned 70% of that firm.

At 9:30 p.m., as David raised a glass of scotch, every executive's phone chimed simultaneously.

An emergency termination order was sent to the entire company — attaching the live 4K security footage of him assaulting me.

His promotion was revoked.

His corporate cards were declined.

And outside, the repo truck had just hooked up his brand-new Porsche."
