Marcus didn't wait for her answer.
He walked straight to the nurses' station and came back two minutes later with the security supervisor.
Isabella hadn't moved.
She was still staring at that blinking light like she could make it disappear by sheer will.
"Pull the footage," Marcus said.
"Everything from the last hour."
"Marcus—" Isabella's voice cracked.
"You don't need to do this."
"Don't I?"
The supervisor stepped toward the wall panel.
Isabella moved first.
"She's unstable," she said quickly.
"She's been having episodes.
The doctors know.
Ask them."
I found my voice from the floor.
"Then why were your hands on me before he walked in?"
The room went completely still.
Isabella's jaw tightened.
"I never touched you."
"Your heel did."
Marcus crouched beside me and helped me sit up slowly.
His hands were shaking.
Then his phone buzzed.
He glanced at the screen — and froze.
It was a message.
From a number I didn't recognize.
He turned the screen so I could read it.
Four words.
*She's done this before.*
