Chapter 2: This Isn't the First Time

Ethan's hands were shaking as he pulled up the footage on his phone.
Nobody spoke.
The room was completely silent.
Then the video began to play.
There was Richard — standing near the window, not moving, not speaking.
And there was Sophia — checking the hallway first, then tearing her own buttons off, then screaming.
Ethan watched it twice.
"Sophia." His voice came out low and strange.
"What is this?"
Sophia's expression shifted fast.
The tears were gone.
Something colder replaced them.
"That camera has been there for months," she said quietly.
"Your father installed it himself.
Did you ever wonder why?"
Ethan looked up.
"What are you talking about?"
"Ask him." She pointed at Richard.
"Ask him what else he's been recording.
Ask him who he's been sending it to."
Richard said nothing.
He just watched his son's face.
But then Ethan's phone buzzed.
A message.
From a number he didn't recognize.
Four words:
*This isn't the first time.*
Ethan stared at the screen.
His father took one slow step forward.
"Ethan.
Before you read another word from that number — there is something I should have told you a long time ago."
