Chapter 2: What the Phone Remembered

**— PART 2 —**
The housemaid's name was Rosa.
She had worked in the Blackwood mansion for eleven years.
Her hands were shaking as she spoke.
"It started three weeks after Miss Serena moved in.
When you weren't home, sir."
Victor didn't move.
"Tell me everything."
Rosa looked at Serena once — just once — then looked away.
"She would lock the baby in the cold room when he cried.
She told us if we said anything, she'd have us deported.
All of us."
Serena laughed.
Actually laughed.
"This woman has hated me since the day I arrived.
You're going to believe a servant over your future wife?"
Victor turned slowly.
"My son has a bruised shoulder, Serena.
The doctor is on his way."
"Children fall.
That's what they do."
"He's fourteen months old."
The room went silent.
Then Lily, still holding Ethan against her chest, spoke quietly.
"There's something else, Mr.
Blackwood."
She reached into her pocket with her free hand and placed a small phone on the table.
"I started keeping my own record.
After the third time."
Serena's smile disappeared.
"You don't know what's on that phone," she said.
But her voice had changed.
Victor picked it up.
And what he saw on that screen made his jaw tighten in a way no one in that room had ever seen before.
---
What was on Lily's phone — and how far did Serena's cruelty actually go?
The full truth is darker than anyone expected.
