The medical team arrived within minutes.
Khloe was lifted onto a stretcher, still curled protectively around her stomach, her face pale and tight with pain.
The nurse squeezed her hand.
Khloe couldn't speak.
Across the room, Isabella was still crying.
Marcus hadn't moved toward Khloe.
He was standing near the window, jaw tight, eyes fixed on a point on the floor.
Elaine Parker watched him from the doorway, confused.
A husband should have rushed to his wife's side.
Marcus hadn't.
Khloe's uncle, Richard, stepped in front of him.
"Security has the footage," Richard said quietly.
"All of it."
Something crossed Marcus's face.
Not relief.
Not anger.
Fear.
"I need to speak with Isabella," Marcus said.
"Privately."
Richard didn't move.
"That's not going to happen."
Then Isabella spoke — and her voice had completely changed.
The tears were gone.
"Tell him, Marcus." Her tone was flat.
Almost calm.
"Tell her what we signed before the wedding."
The room went still.
Khloe turned her head from the stretcher.
"What is she talking about?" she whispered.
Marcus finally looked at his wife.
And said nothing.
That silence was the most devastating answer in the room.
