The screen went dark.
Nobody moved.
Then Andrew stood up.
He didn't shout.
He didn't cry.
He just looked at Rachel with the kind of stillness that's worse than anger.
"Who is he?"
Rachel grabbed the microphone stand to steady herself.
"Andrew, I can explainβ"
"Who.
Is.

The room stayed silent.
Three hundred people holding their breath.
Rachel's mother stepped forward.

Andrew crossed the ballroom floor and crouched down in front of her.
"How long have you known?"
Chloe swallowed.
"Since Grandma's birthday.
I saw them outside the restaurant."
I felt the air leave my body.
Rachel's face went white.
"She's a child.
She doesn't understand what she sawβ"
"She understood enough." Andrew straightened up slowly.
Then his best man touched his shoulder and leaned close.
He whispered something.
Andrew's jaw tightened.
"Show me the rest of the drive," he said.
There was more on that flash drive.
And what came next made Rachel's own mother cover her mouth and look away.

What Chloe recorded that night at Grandma's birthday changed everything β and Rachel's secret was bigger than anyone in that ballroom realized.
