Chapter 2: The Boys Who Looked Exactly Like Him

For a long moment, no one moved.
Then Ethan appeared at the top of the stone steps.
He looked exactly as I remembered — tall, composed, the kind of man who never let anything shake him in public.
But the second his eyes landed on Liam, Noah, and Caleb standing beside me in their velvet tuxedos, every drop of color drained from his face.
He gripped the stone railing.
"What is this?" he said.
His voice came out barely above a whisper.
"This," I said calmly, "is what you signed away five years ago without looking up from your desk."
A woman in white appeared behind him.
Caroline.
His bride.
She looked at the boys, then at Ethan, then back at the boys — and I watched the exact moment she understood.
Her bouquet slipped from her hands.
From the balcony above, Eleanor's voice cracked through the silence like a whip.
"Get them off this property.
Now."
But nobody moved.
Because one of the guests — a silver-haired man near the front row — had risen slowly from his seat.
He was staring at my sons with an expression I had never expected to see at this wedding.
Recognition.
He looked at Ethan.
Then at me.
Then he reached into his jacket and pulled out a folded envelope.
"I think," he said quietly, "it's time everyone heard what's actually inside Ethan's original will."
Eleanor's face went white.

What's in that envelope — and why has Eleanor been hiding it?
