Chapter 1: The Empty Seat
BANG!
The girl throws the front door open—
still wearing her graduation gown, tears streaming down her face.
Right in front of her—
her father is wearing a basketball jersey, happily lifting his stepson into the air like they just finished celebrating a win.
She screams:
"YOU SKIPPED MY GRADUATION—JUST TO STAY HERE AND CELEBRATE WITH HIM?!"
The father freezes.
"HIS CHAMPIONSHIP WAS IMPORTANT."
She shouts even louder:
"AND MY GRADUATION WASN'T IMPORTANT?!"
The room goes silent.
She stares straight at her father and roars:
"THEN THIS IS THE LAST TIME YOU GET TO CALL ME YOUR DAUGHTER!"
Her father stands there in horror.
The boy in his arms goes still—
What will her father say next — and will it be enough?
She gave him everything…
and he chose a championship over her biggest day.
